The Irish Cancer Society says women are still too slow to get a breast check.
The charity has partnered with Penneys this Breast Cancer Awareness Month and will be offering free advice in its Wilton branch today.
1 in 7 women in Ireland will get breast cancer at some point in their lives.
Speaking to RedFM News, Michelle Lonergan from the Irish Cancer Society says women have a responsibility to get their breasts checked:
"We're still slow enough to get ourselves checked out, we tend to only go about something when we have a problem, instead of being proactive. You only have one life, that's the thing, and you have a responsibility to look after your own life."
