The notice affects around 9,500 in Whitegate, Aghada, Churchtown, Ballycotton, Saleen, Shanagarry, Ballinacurra and parts of Cloyne.
Irish Water says the boil notice is in place to due heavy rainfall which may have compromised the disinfection process.
The water remains safe for handwashing, but will need to be boiled before drinking, preparing food and brushing teeth.
