Irish Water is asking people using pesticides in Cork to consider the vulnerability of the county's drinking water supplies.
The utility say the Glashaboy, Glanmire and Macroom water supplies are particularly vulnerable to contamination from land and animal run-off.
The supplies are on Irish Water's watch list for a number of chemicals found in pesticides, however they say the levels detected do not pose any immediate risk to people's health.
The legally permitted limit for pesticides in water is extremely low and is equivalent to one drop on an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
