An ISPCA inspector says she found dogs on a puppy farm in Charleville so deformed from malnutrition they were walking on their knees.
Mallow District Court heard yesterday that Vasyl Fedoryn was keeping 13 dogs in horrific conditions at his home in Ballypierce on April 21st 2023.
He pleaded guilty to 14 charges under the animal welfare act and will appear in court again on the 1st of April.
Inspector Caroline Faherty said she had to break a shed padlock to release the severely dehydrated animals who were covered in faeces.
Speaking to RedFM News Caroline Faherty of the ISPCA says it was one of the worst conditions she has ever found animals in:
"The poor German Shepherd, due to lack of nutrition and the confined space, their legs were deformed, so they were walking on their knees. All their coats were completely matted in faeces, it was so bad that a clippers couldn't be used, it was a blade. And there were maggots in their coats when they were shaved down."
