Pharmaceutical firm Pfizer is cutting 5% of its Irish workforce.
210 jobs are going across its three manufacturing plants including Ringaskiddy.
The lay-offs are part of the US pharmaceutical company's global €1.3 billion cost-cutting programme announced last May.
SIPTU's Andrea Cleere says they're meeting with the company, but don't have details of the redundancy packages being offered:
"Staff are digesting the information as it's been shared with them. I suppose they don't necessarily know the details, and that hasn't been fully disclosed and will wait to receive further information, but our thoughts are supposed to go out to any of the workers, their families, who might be facing the prospect of losing their job at the end of 2025."
