The 22 year old son of celebrity chef Rachel Allen was found to be in possession of cocaine in Midleton in July 2020.
Joshua Allen of Ballynamona, Shanagarry has been in custody since Monday after Judge Sarah Berkeley said she wanted to read the full file on his case.
Judge Alec Gabbett originally sentenced Allen to two months in prison at a sitting of Midleton District Court in July last year after he found him guilty of possessing €280 worth of cocaine at the Pontoon in the town on the 10th of July 2020.
The incident was a triggering offence for a 15-month suspended sentence that was imposed on Allen in February 2020 for the possession €22,000 worth of cannabis for sale or supply.
Defence barrister Donal O'Sullivan pleaded for leniency on Monday saying that his client had matured in the past year.
Judge Berkeley heard that Allen had been stopped on suspicion of drug driving in both Midleton and Dungarvan in May 2022.
His barrister originally said he would be strenuously contesting both charges, however he said today that Allen had since told him that he had attended a music festival and had consumed cannabis and would not be claiming to be drug-free when he was stopped by Gardaí.
Judge Berkeley affirmed the two month sentence imposed by Judge Gabbett and reactivated ten month of the suspended sentence but suspended the final five months of that, leaving Allen with 7 months to serve.
