Killard residents stage protest as traffic speeds worsen in their area

Killard residents say they're worried someone will be killed on their local road before traffic calming measures are put in place.

The road which links to Clogheen and Blarney, and is used by many motorists travelling between Blarney and the northside of the city has a speed limit of 50km per hour however locals say no one adheres to that speed.

A protest was held this morning to highlight the dangers of the road and calls were made for traffic calming measures, adequate road signage and decent footpaths.

Speaking to RedFM News local resident Geraldine Hassett says something has to be done before someone loses their life:
