Large areas of the county are being serviced by Garda stations that don't have members of the police force working in them.
At a recent meeting of the Cork County Joint Policing Committee, it emerged that Ballyvourney, Drinagh and Durrus Stations are without Gardaí.
The Joint Policing Committee allows An Garda Síochána, the Local Authority and representatives of the Community and Voluntary sectors to work together on policing and crime issues.
Committee members also expressed concert about the number of Gardaí in Blarney and Carrignavar Stations.
The Echo is reporting that additional probationary Gardaí from the Garda College in Templemore are expected to help ease staffing shortages.
