Lives will be lost if the Government doesn't invest in the ambulance service
A Cork councillor says the service is under huge pressure and says one of the pinch points is the reduced hours for SouthDoc in North Cork
Councillor Deirdre O’Brien claims that ambulances are responding to non-emergency cases which could lead to no ambulance being available in the region when an emergency occurs
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr O'Brien says there needs to be further investment in the ambulance fleet or lives will be lost
"Immediately people just ring 999. So the ambulance service is finding that they're attending to calls that are not emergency or not life threatening. And this is taking up the service there will be lives up because they won't make it in time to the person that needs that help"
