Locals in Bandon are campaigning to get funding for a pop-up swimming pool in the town.
The Bandon Business Association has come out in support of the initiative after it was proposed by Maria Shannon from the Creative Bandon community organisation.
Swim Ireland, supported by Sport Ireland, runs the Pop-Up Pool Programme.
Temporary steel swimming pools holding around 45,000 litres of water are erected in public spaces - with the water being brought up to 30 degrees and sheltered from the elements in a hard sided marquee.
