Irish Rail's Barry Kenny, says services on the route will be affected by delays until lunchtime
"The machinery working on the line has broken down, so it's blocking one of the two tracks between Charleville and Limerick junction. It means that all trains in both directions have to go through the single track, and we have a lot of safety arrangements put in place for that. So delays are ranging between one and two hours on Cork to Dublin services at the moment, and that will continue, certainly up to lunchtime at this point, as we work to rectify the fault of machine and clear the line"
