The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Colm Kelleher, held a civic reception in City Hall today to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Naval Service.
An engraved silver salver was presented to the most junior member of the fleet who will accept the gift on behalf of the Naval Service.
Earlier today, the fleet, including the LE Samuel Beckett, conducted a sail past Cork Harbour, beginning at Haulbowline Naval Base and coming up river to the city.
The Maritime Flotilla also formed part of the annual National Services Day display which honoured the contribution of front line workers to Irish society.
