The Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr Colm Kelleher will not be visiting schools this year.
The tradition was established by Terence MacSwiney when he became Mayor in 1920 .
Cllr Kelleher hosted a 'Lord Mayor's Day' in October 2021 where he virtually visited the schools
and he had hoped to carry out physical visits during his year in office.
However, he has now taken the decision that this will not be possible.
