A man in his 20s has died in a swimming tragedy near Youghal Harbour.
Four other people got out of the sea safely.
The man was swimming with a number of other people at Whiting Bay in Ardmore when they got into difficulty.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene at around half 1 yesterday afternoon.
The Coast Guard rescued three people from the water and one of them, a man in his early 20s was brought by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
No-one else was injured and the other two people who were also swimming left safely.
