Gardaí responded to reports of a man climbing up scaffolding on the South Mall last night at around 9pm.
Officers attended the scene and found the man covered in paint. They also found that blue paint had been put on the walls in several rooms.
The man was arrested and has since been charged in relation to the burglary.
He's due before Mallow District Court later this morning.
