A man in his late 20s has died in a stabbing incident in Carrigaline this morning.
His body remains at the scene.
Gardaí were called to the scene of a serious assault in a house in Carrigaline at approximately half past three this morning.
A 27-year old man was discovered with serious stab wounds at Sea View Avenue in the town.
Gardaí and emergency services treated the man at the scene but he died shortly afterwards.
His remains are still there and the State Pathologist has been notified.
Gardaí were also notified of a second man, in his mid-70s, who presented at Cork University Hospital with serious stab wounds.
He is in a serious condition in CUH.
Gardaí have arrested a 42 year old man who is currently being detained at Gurranabraher Garda Station.
They are appealing for information from anyone who was in the Carrigaline or Passage West areas in the early hours of this morning and may have noticed something.
