A man remains in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital after he suffered serious burns while working at Stryker in Carrigtwohill yesterday.
An investigation into the incident which injured two workers has been launched.
Emergency Services were called to the company's Anngrove building yesterday after 1pm.
It's believed the two men were working on the roof of the building when an explosion happened.
Garda Press told RedFM News that a man was taken to Cork University Hospital with what are believed to be serious burn injuries.
The scene has been preserved for an examination and the Health and Safety Authority say they have launched an investigation.
A spokesperson for Stryker confirmed to RedFM News confirmed that two people were taken to hospital and said staff were safely evacuated from the facility.
The company said they are committed to a safe and healthy work environment at their facilities and say they are working closely with the authorities to investigate the incident.
