Andrew Nash of Parnell Street, Thurles, Co Tipperary appeared before a sitting of Bandon District Court in the past hour.
Andrew Nash was arrested in Thurles by Gardaí investigating the death of 51 year old John Ustic who was found dead at his home in Skibbereen on the 25th of September 2017.
A post mortem examination found he had died following an assault
Today at Bandon District Court Detective Garda Kevin Long gave evidence of arrest charge and caution and said the accused made no reply when the charge was put to him.
The court was told the DPP had directed that Nash be prosecuted for the killing at the Central Criminal Court and Judge Colm Roberts remanded him in custody to appear before the court again on Thursday.
Nash’s defence barrister Peter O’Flynn applied for legal aid on behalf of his client and said a bail application will be made to the High Court in due course.
