A man accused of being involved in a long-running feud between two families in north Cork has been remanded in custody

18-year-old Paddy O’Driscoll of number 2 Rosewood Drive Charleville, Co Cork appeared at Fermoy District Court.

Paddy O’Driscoll is charged with possession of a slash hook and criminal damage at a house in Charleville on the 8th of January.

Detective Garda Gary Costelloe said the arrest is on the back of an ongoing-feud between two families and said the level of aggression involved has escalated.

He objected to bail due to the seriousness of the charges and said it is his belief that the accused would try to interfere with witnesses.

Judge Colm Roberts adjourned the bail application and remanded O’Driscoll in custody until next Friday to allow for the clarification of other matters.
