The directions of the DPP are awaited in the case of a 41 year old man who was charged last weekend with the murder of his wife who had been found dead at a house in Wilton.
Regin Parithapara Rajan appeared before the District Court last Sunday charged with the murder of 38 year old Deepa Dinamani at their home in Cardinal Court last Friday.
Today Mr Rajan, who appeared by video link from Cork Prison, was further remanded in custody until July 31 for DPP directions.
Mr Rajan is a native of India while his wife Deepa Dinamani was a chartered accountant who was working as a senior manager in fund services at a company based in the Airport Business Park.
The deceased, who is the mother of a five year old son, had been living in Cork for just three months.
