29 year old Miller Pacheco of Room 3, Number 5, Liberty Street, Cork City appeared at Cork District Court via video link earlier today.
The body of 28 year old Bruna Fonseca was discovered at an apartment on Liberty Street in the city on New Year’s Day.
Miller Pacheco appeared at a Special Sitting of Cork District Court on the 2nd of January, charged with murdering his former partner at an address on Liberty Street, and was remanded to Cork Prison.
Today in court, Sergeant Gearóid Davis said the state is awaiting directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions and applied for a two week adjournment.
There was no Portuguese language interpreter present in the courtroom for the brief hearing, however Judge Joanne Carroll said Pacheco would be able to have a video briefing with his defence council Michael Quinlan to explain what had happened in court when the interpreter arrived.
Judge Carroll remanded Pacheco in custody at Cork Prison.
He’s due to appear before the court again via video link on Monday the 27th of February.
