A man has been arrested following a protest at the Crawford Art Gallery in Cork City yesterday evening.
It’s believed liquid was thrown at a painting in the Gallery by a man in his 20s, who it's believed was part of a group of activists protesting oil exploration.
In a statement to RedFM news Gardai said
"Shortly before 5pm, on Thursday the 10th of November, 2022, Gardaí from the Bridewell were alerted following reports of an alleged incident of Criminal Damage in an Art Gallery on Emmet Place, Cork City.
"It’s understood liquid substance was thrown on a painting in the course the incident.
"A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at the Bridewell Garda Station.
"Enquires are ongoing."
