A 42-year-old man arrested in connection with the investigation into an armed robbery at a shop in Cork city on Wednesday has been remanded in custody.

Peter Mullins of 31 Argideen Lawn, Togher, Cork is charged with the robbery of €615 in cash from Centra in Broadale, Maryborough Hill, Douglas.

Detective Garda David Shannon said Peter Mullins made no reply when the single charge put to him.
No bail application was made and the accused was remanded to Cork Prison to appear before the court again on the 11th of April via video link.
Defence solicitor Shane Collins-Daly made an application for legal aid and told Judge Mary Dorgan his client was ‘anxious’ to get his medication while in custody.
Detective Shannon made reference to firearms legislation, however Judge Dorgan noted the only charge before the court was one of robbery.
