The man in his 50s left Cobh Garda station just after 5pm.
In an update just after 5pm, Garda Press said the man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge.
He was arrested yesterday when Gardaí upgraded the investigation into the disappearance of Tina Satchwell to a murder inquiry.
The Fermoy native was 45-year-old when she was reported missing from her home in Youghal on the 24th of March 2017.
A major search of a house in Youghal began last night and Garda Press say that search is continuing.
Gardaí in Midleton have renewed their appeal for any person who may have information relevant to the case to contact them.
