20-year-old Michael Collins of Apartment 6, Sandlighter Apartments, Wolfe Tone Street, Clonakilty, Co Cork appeared before Bandon District Court today.
The incident unfolded when a man entered Clonakilty Credit Union at 12:35pm last Friday and is understood to have produced a knife before leaving with a sum of money, believed to be around €2,000.
No injuries were reported following the robbery.
Gardaí consented to a bail application and Judge John King heard slight changes may be needed to the bail conditions as the accused is being referred to mental health services.
Collins is due before Clonakilty District Court on the 5th of March for DPP directions.
