A man has died after a road traffic accident in the city this afternoon.
It happened shortly before half-past-three.
He was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital, but Gardaí confirmed to RedFM News that it was a fatal incident.
The Wellington Road is currently closed and will remain so for several hours.
Diversions are in place and Gardaí are appealing to motorists to avoid the area.
