A man has been hospitalised after an assault in Cobh.
Gardaí were alerted to the incident in Carrignafoy shortly after 6 o clock yesterday evening.
The man who was assaulted was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment.
A man in his 50's was arrested and is being detained at a Garda station in Cork.
Gardaí told RedFM News that:
Shortly after 6 p.m., Gardaí were alerted to an incident in which a man was assaulted outside a premises in Carrignafoy, Cobh.
The injured man was transported to hospital by ambulance for assessment. A man in his 50s was subsequently arrested and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Cork.
