A man has been arrested after a woman in her late-30s was found dead at a house in Cork City.
Emergency services attended the scene at Cardinal Court, Wilton last night and an investigation into the fatal assault has been launched.
Gardaí and the National Ambulance Service attended the house after the alarm was raised at 10:10pm however the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his early 40s was arrested and is in custody at a city Garda Station.
The woman’s body remains at the scene and Garda Press say a post-mortem will be carried out in due course.
The house remains sealed off this morning for a full technical examination.
A family liaison officer has also been appointed.
