A man in his 30's is due in court in Cork this morning on drugs charges
Gardaí from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit stopped and searched the man in the Douglas area On Tuesday
During the search the man assaulted a Garda member and attempted to flee from the scene before he was apprehended.
A quantity of heroin, valued in excess of €7,000 and a sum of €600 in cash were recovered.
During a follow-up operation, Gardaí searched a residential property in the Douglas area and recovered heroin worth in excess of €37,000
The man has since been charged and is due to appear before Cork District Court this morning.
