A male in his late teens was stabbed in the city centre last night.
The assault occurred on Castle Street, between North Main Street and Cornmarket Street, shortly after 10:30pm.
He was brought to Cork University Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
In a statement to RedFM News, Gardaí confirmed that a man in his teens was arrested in relation to the incident, and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at the Bridewell Garda station.
They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
They are also particularly keen for anyone with camera footage of the incident to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
