A man was killed this afternoon in a road traffic accident on the Main Street of Charleville.
The N20 is closed through the town and emergency services remain at the scene.
The fatal accident, involving a lorry and a pedestrian, happened at approximately quarter to one this lunchtime.
A male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene on the Main Street of the North Cork town.
No other injuries were reported.
Charleville's Main Street is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí have requested Forensic Collision Investigators attend the scene.
They are also appealing for all witnesses to come forward.
Anyone who was on the Main Street area of Charleville, between midday and 1 o'clock this afternoon, and who has camera footage including dash-cam footage, is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
