Man pleads guilty to stealing €27,500 from Cork-based animal welfare charity

A 31 year old man who has pleaded guilty to stealing €27,500 from the Cork-based animal welfare charity Cat Haven has had his case adjourned to allow him to gather further compensation.

Owen Collins of Mountain Barracks, Mitchelstown, has now handed over €20,000 in compensation arising out of his theft from the charity

At today's sitting of Cork Circuit Criminal Court Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin remanded Owen Collins on bail until February 2nd, 2022 to facilitate him in raising more funds.

No details were furnished as to the background of the alleged thefts or the defendant's connection with Cat Haven.
