A man who has been couch surfing since he got out of jail says he’s not sure if he would be here today without the help of Cork Simon Community.
John O’Driscoll got out of jail last year and has been using Cork Simon’s training and education programmes and hopes to secure his own accommodation soon.
However, Cork Simon Community say cost of living increases, rising inflation and high rents are making it more difficult for their service users to find affordable housing.
Speaking to RedFM News, John who’s been using the service says people are finding it more difficult to escape homelessness every year:
"It's hard for people to get up and do a course if they don't have a roof over their head. I want to do courses to help people who are facing addiction to help them so they don't go down the same route I did."
