A man who was rescued after he hit his head while mountain biking in North Cork has thanked the four young boys who helped him.
Evan Mahon was on a cycling trail in the Ballyhoura mountains last November when he flipped over the handlebars of his bike.
4 boys aged between 10 and 12 who saw the accident called for help and guided the emergency services to bring Evan to safety.
Speaking to RedFM News at Luke, Bobby, Joe and Ciarán’s schools in Kildorrery and Glenahulla in Mitchelstown today, Evan says he’s grateful that the boys helped him:
"Myself at that age I don't know what I would have done, I can't believe how well educated they were to co-operate with the Gardaí and rescue service, I'm so lucky to have met the boys that day."
