The park is projected to make the record number despite being closed for the first four months of the year.
A new spider monkey habitat was opened at the park yesterday after construction was delayed by the pandemic.
One of the region's most popular tourist attractions, the park was given €1 million by the government at the end of last year to help offset some of the losses associated with being closed during lockdown.
Speaking to RedFM News, director of the park Sean McKeown says they have had a very positive reopening:
Really since we opened in May this year we have been exceptionally busy. We've had record months for May, June, July and August. September wasn't as good because I think it was very wet and the kids were going back to school but in October November- November looks like it's going to be a record month and October was a record month. So, seven months that we've been open so far this year, we'd have had six record months and looking like we will have our busiest year ever."
