The naval service is playing a big part in the investigation into a suspected drug smuggling operation in West Cork
A maritime search is being conducted in Cork waters as it's suspected that a large amount of drugs could have been 'dumped' off the coast from an "unknown mothership."
The Irish Defence Forces, Interpol and the Maritime Analysis and Operational Centre in Portugal are now involved in tracking the suspected 'mothership'
10 men are still being held at garda stations across Cork after they were arrested in Tragumna and Leap on Thursday
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Southern Correspondent with the Irish Times Barry Roche says it's a wide ranging operation involving several police forces
"They have to go through these 450 hours of CCTV, they must go through the seized phones to extract information. They are also liaising with police forces in Northern Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Bulgaria and Scottish police along with searches being conducted in Dublin "
