The group who provide support to people with depression and bipolar disorder say they need an extra 50 volunteers to deal with the increased demand for their service.
People can work remotely or at various locations across the country and are being asked to volunteer three hours a week.
David Baily from Midleton suffered in silence with depression for years and now volunteers with AWARE.
He told RedFM News that the latest easing of restrictions has meant people have less time to dedicate to the charity:
"The urgency is quite strong at the moment. And people I would suggest, they're getting back to normal life, back to work. They don't have the ability to support AWARE to the same level that they would have previously. I guess it's predictable to some extent now that the pandemic is over, that people who had more time and space to support organisations like AWARE have less time available."
