The Mental Health Commission's latest Inspection Report has found that a lack of resourcing at a ward in a Cork hospital put the running of its rehabilitation and recovery programme at risk.
The inspectors were concerned that the significant 'corporate risk' had not been sufficiently addressed.
They found that the health checks and records of several residents were not properly carried out or retained, while the needs of one resident were not being met.
Overall compliance increased from 66% in 2021 to 74% in 2022.
Following the inspection, the Mental Health Commission required the HSE to urgently review and address the critical areas of non-compliance.
The centre then submitted specific assurances in relation to risk management which included the specific arrangements for responding to emergency clinical risks.
