The Metropole Hotel has launched a recruitment drive for experienced bar and floor staff, as well as cloakroom and cleaning attendants ahead of the return of the Jazz Festival to the city at the end of next month.
The last remaining Covid-19 restrictions are due to be lifted on October 22nd, when rules on physical distancing and mask-wearing in most circumstances will lapse and the Metropole hope to hire up to 50 people to work as part of its jazz team across the festival bank holiday weekend from October 22nd - 25th.
The hotel is hosting open recruitment days on October 12 and 13th at the hotel from 5pm to 7pm.
The recruitment drives comes as the hospitality sector calls for Covid recovery supports.
A new survey by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland shows that there will be 6,730 fewer jobs in the drinks and hospitality industry in the Cork and Kerry in 2022 as the impact of the pandemic is set to continue despite the predicted economic recovery.
