A West Cork restaurant has been awarded a Michelin Star.
Dede at the Custom House in Baltimore is the only newcomer to what's now a list of 18 establishments in this country.
Head Chef Ahmet Dede has been awarded with a Star twice himself, in 2019 and 2020.
The other Cork restaurants that retain their star for this year year are Batsion in Kinsale, Chestnut in Ballydehob and Ichigo Ichie in Cork City.
Owner of Dede Maria Archer says she's thankful the assessment team made an extra effort to visit during the pandemic.
"We don't know when they're coming, but there's two assessments on the restaurant normally. They come twice to make sure there's consistency and that the first time was not just a blip.
"For them it must have been incredibly more difficult, but they are dedicated to raising standards and awareness within the industry.
"So they did it, and we're delighted that they made that huge effort to do that."
