It comes as the defence forces are to be deployed to East Cork due to the severity of the flooding in the region.
Cork County Council requested emergency support from the defence forces as many homes and businesses are under water in the area and substantial damage caused.
Many roads in Midleton, Killeagh, Youghal and the surrounding areas are impassable due to the severe flood waters.
Cars are under water in the Riverside Way car park in the town with Mill Street and Main Street all flooded.
Youghal, Carrigtwohill, Mogeely and Whitegate have all been very badly hit by flooding and the Ballyhooly Road in Ballyvolane is also impassable.
The R600 from Belgooly to Riverstick is closed due to flooding and parts of Kinsale town are under water.
