Migrant Nurses Ireland has welcomed an external probe into allegations of racism made at Cork University Hospital
Nursing staff from overseas, who are being supported by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, say they were subject to racial abuse at the hospital
Management at CUH say they're treating the allegations very seriously and look forward to a prompt outcome of the investigation.
Migrant Nurses Ireland was established nearly two years ago in an effort to support overseas nurses who are unaware of their rights and need support living in Ireland
Speaking to RedFM News Varghese Joy of Migrant Nurses Ireland says all nursing staff are entitled to work in an open and fair workplace
"That's what we want an open, fair culture and that these complaints are taken seriously, formally investigated and these people need some reassurance that these complaints are heard and
fairly investigated and appropriate actions are taken"
