The Minister for Health has been called on urgently to intervene in Cork University Hospital's Ophthalmology waiting list.
Patients are waiting for years even to get an appointment.
In a letter seen by RedFM News, CUH's Central Appointments Office says that appointments within Ophthalmology Services have been delayed "due to limited capacity".
The letter also says that "due to the large number of patients waiting for appointments, it may still be some considerable time before [the hospital is] able to offer an appointment date."
At present, CUH is "currently providing urgent eye care services only".
