The Minister for Health says trolley figures at Cork University Hospital more than halved in the space of two busy Bank Holiday weekends.
Jennifer Carroll MacNeil is aiming to reduce waiting times in Emergency Departments.
49 patients were waiting for a bed after the St.Bridget's Day Bank Holiday while 20 were waiting on trolleys following the St.Patrick's Day Bank Holiday weekend.
Speaking to RedFM News, Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeil says the same method will be applied for the forthcoming Easter Bank Holiday weekend:
"I was very satisfied to see that after the St. Bridget's Day Bank Holiday where the figures were 49 which are very high, but following the St. Patrick's Day Bank Holiday weekend, figures were at 20. So visiting the hospital they have committed to me that they will approach the next Bank Holiday with the same approach to ensure better patient experience and better patient safety."
