Minister Simon Coveney says the Minister for Media has his full support.
Catherine Martin’s position has been labeled as “untenable” after she said she was misinformed in relation to RTÉ exit packages on Prime Time.
The announcement caused Suin Ni Raghallaigh to resign as chair of the RTE board.
Minister Simon Coveney doesn’t agree that Minister for Media Catherine Martin’s position is untenable:
No I don't, I know Catherine Martin well, she has been immersed in this challenging series of situations that have emerged out of RTÉ but I think she'll be there to resolve these problems as a Minister. But todays developments are significant I'm sure she'll speak about that, but she has my full support."
