Minor flood works have been approved for Killeagh and Castlemartyr ahead of the winter season
€82,000 has been allocated for the works at Castlemartyr which will include lowering the embankment, cleaning the river channel, along with some dredging works from Factory Bridge to the N25 bridge
At Killeagh €73,000 will be spent on tree cutting, the removal of overhanging trees and branches, and the removal of vegetation downstream of the N25 to Greenway Bridge.
54 funding applications by Cork City and County Councils have been supported under the Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme since 2009
