More than half of adults in Cork walk or cycle five times a week.
A new survey carried out by the National Transport Authority shows 69,000 cars are taken off the city's roads daily by people choosing to walk or cycle.
The annual economic benefit of people walking or cycling in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford is €3 billion.
