The mother of two immunocompromised teenagers from Bandon says she is hopeful people will continue to wear masks after tomorrow.
The legal requirement to wear a face covering in schools, shops and on public transport will be dropped from Monday after NPHET issued advice to the government.
The Teachers Union of Ireland say they are fearful for vulnerable students and staff, while groups such as the Irish Heart Foundation, the Irish Cancer Society and the Asthma Society of Ireland say the decision to end the legal requirement for face masks should be delayed.
Caroline Murray's sons Eoin and Dylan were born with Cystic Fibrosis.
She told RedFM News that her family will continue to wear masks:
"I would think so I know I would personally still wear one as well as, like in the hairdresser's, the shopping centres, out in public, I still don't get out of my car without wearing one. It's just a case of I have two daughters in primary school and I'd be hoping that they will still wear masks for the sake of their brothers not getting sick."
