The mother of a woman who was murdered in Passage West 12 years ago has questioned why parole hearings are included in life sentences.
36-year-old mother of 3 Olivia Dunlea was stabbed 6 times by her partner Darren Murphy who then set fire to her duvet and fled the scene in February 2013.
He was sentenced to life in prison in 2018 for the murder of Olivia but is soon eligible to apply for parole.
Speaking to RedFM News, Olivia's mother Ann Dunlea says she believes anyone sentenced to life in prison should complete the full sentence:
"You never really move on, you just carry on from day to day but when you see this it's like we're back to sqaure one. They shouldn't have a parole hearing, sentenced to life should mean sentenced to life, cause we're sentenced to life anyway."
