Motorists are being urged to be cautious on the roads this morning following freezing overnight temperatures.
Parts of Cork have seen some snowfall overnight, with further snow and sleet expected across the county this morning
Cork was under a status yellow weather warning for low temperatures overnight and is in place until midday.
Speaking to RedFM News, Brian Farrell from the RSA has this advice for driving in icy conditions.
"In icy conditions it's always important to avoid harsh braking and acceleration.
"Remember to use the highest gear possible to avoid wheelspin, and select a lower gear when travelling downhill and through bends - what you're effectively doing is using the car's engine as a brake.
"I think 'gently does it' is the key to getting through the icy conditions."
